The Clarke B. Adams Memorial Foundation Lapeer County Community Foundation Fund (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To attract and manage permanently endowed funds serving a wide range of charitable purposes in order to strengthen the quality of life in Lapeer County. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be graduating at the end of the current school year from Lapeer East or Lapeer West High School; must be accepted and planning to enroll in an accredited post-secondary college, university or trade school; must have 2.5 or better GPA based on a 4.0 scale. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on academic achievement and financial need.

Funds Avail.: No specific amount. To Apply: Applicants must submit a completed application form, transcript, resume, an essay and letter of recommendation from a teacher or community leader stating the personal qualities. Deadline: April 21.

Ross P. Broesamle Educational Scholarships Fund (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To support educational assistance to students from Almont Township or the Village of Almont and the Township of Dryden of the Village of Dryden. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must reside in geographic areas stated and be accepted or enrolled in an accredited state approved degree granting institution. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on financial need.

Funds Avail.: No specific amount. To Apply: Applicants must be prepared to participate in a brief interview; must submit a transcript of records, test scores, photos and federal tax return for self or family. Deadline: April 15.

Irma Gelhausen Scholarship Fund (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To advance the values of community education through the development and encouragement of teachers who best emulate the qualities of commitment to well-rounded education and social values at the elementary level. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be in the third or more year of college/university studies; must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher for post-secondary studies and must be residents of Lapeer County. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on financial need.

Funds Avail.: No specific amount. To Apply: Applicants must submit a completed application form, a “200-word” essay discussing the expectations to achieve as an educator; must attach the most recent transcript of records, verification of current GPA and standardized test scores, IRS federal tax return and current photo to be used for publicity purposes. Wayne Hildebrant Police Scholarships Fund (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To support education in the law enforcement fields. Focus: Law enforcement. Qualif.: Applicants must be residents of Lapeer County and accepted into an accredited police academy of college/university law enforcement program; must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on financial need.

Funds Avail.: $500. To Apply: Applicants must be prepared to participate in a brief interview; must submit a transcript of records, test scores, photos and federal tax return for self or family. Deadline: April 15.

Lapeer County Medical Scholarships Fund (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To promote various medical related purposes. Focus: Medical education. Qualif.: Applicants must be residents of Lapeer County; must be accepted into and enrolled in an accredited medical program and maintain a GPA of 3.2. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on financial need.

Funds Avail.: No specific amount. To Apply: Applicants must be prepared to participate in a brief interview; must submit a transcript of records, test scores, photos and federal tax return for self or family. Deadline: April 15.

Hazel Simms Nursing Scholarship (Professional Development/Scholarship)

Purpose: To promote and foster education of person's accepted by registered nursing programs and registered nurses accepted into Bachelor of Science in nursing programs in Michigan. Focus: Nursing. Qualif.: Applicants must be accepted into a Michigan registered nursing program approved by the Michigan Board of Nursing; must be registered nurses who are pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing; must have completed one year or more in college; must be residents within 90 days or longer in Almont, Dryden, Imlay, Lakeville, Lapeer and North Branch. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on financial need, scholastic record of the applicant and recommendations from college faculty and official of the college.

Funds Avail.: No specific amount. To Apply: Applicants must submit a completed application form, statement of applicant, copy of applicant's most recent household federal tax, statement by the Director/Faculty Member of Nursing Program, transcript of courses completed at all colleges and current photo. Deadline: April 30.
