NCOA Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To assist the children and spouses of NCOA members who wish to pursue their education. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicant must be a spouse or child of a NCOA member and must be 25 years old and below (for children of members). Criteria: Recipients will be selected by the committee of educators.

Funds Avail.: $900 (nine children and four spouses), two special awards of $1,000, and one $1,000 from all applications. Number Awarded: 16. To Apply: Children of NCOA members must submit a completed application form; two letters of recommendation; a handwritten autobiography; personal letter of recommendation; transcripts; copy of ACT/SAT scores; and a composition (maximum of 200 words) about Americanism. Spouses of NCOA members must submit a completed application form; a copy of high school diploma or GED; transcript of completed college courses (if any); a certificate of completion for other training courses; a brief biography; and a letter of intent on: degree course of study, plans for completion of a degree program, and a paragraph about “What a College Degree Means to Me.” Mail all documents in one complete package to: NCOA Scholarship Fund, Inc., PO Box 33610, San Antonio, TX 78265. Deadline: March 31.

Remarks: Students must maintain a B average to be considered for renewal.

Bettsy Ross Educational Fund (All, Professional Development/Scholarship)

Purpose: To assist division members who wish to improve their skills by taking a course at a local business or technical school. Focus: Data processing. Qualif.: Applicant must be a NCOA Auxiliary Division member. Criteria: Applicant selection is based on the submitted applications.

Funds Avail.: $250. Number Awarded: 6. To Apply: Applicant must submit an application form and forward it to: NCOA Scholarships 10635 IH 35 N San Antonio, TX 78233.
