Description:

State-supported, 4-year, coed. Part of Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education. Awards associate and bachelor's degrees. Founded 1909. Setting: 40-acre rural campus. Endowment: $4 million. Educational spending 2003-04: $3665 per student. Total enrollment: 1,237. Student-undergrad faculty ratio is 14:1. 944 applied, 60% were admitted. Full-time: 1,049 students, 48% women, 52% men. Part-time: 188 students, 71% women, 29% men. Students come from 34 states and territories, 19 other countries, 46% from out-of-state, 2% Native American, 11% Hispanic, 7% black, 0.2% Asian American or Pacific Islander, 2% international, 23% 25 or older, 17% live on campus, 15% transferred in. Community Environment:

Goodwell is located in the center of the Oklahoma Panhandle in Texas County. The climate is cool and arid. The area is served by railroad, and Highway 54. Goodwell has three churches, and various civic, fraternal and veteran's organizations.
