Pierce College Foundation Coca-Cola Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)
Purpose: To support Pierce College students with their education. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be U.S. citizens; must have a 2.5 minimum GPA; must be engaged in community service within the previous 12 months or employed full or part-time; must be enrolled in at least two courses. Applicants may not be the children or grandchildren of a Coca-Cola employee. Criteria: Nominees will be selected by the Pierce College Scholarship Committee (one from Fort Steilacoom and one from Puyal-lup).
Funds Avail.: $1,000. Pierce County Retired Teachers Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)
Purpose: To support Pierce College students with their education. Focus: Teaching. Qualif.: Applicants must be community college students in the second year of program and who will graduate with an AA degree; must be planning to transfer to a four-year university/college as full-time students; must be intending to pursue a career in teaching or education; and must have a minimum 2.5 GPA. Criteria: Selection is based on the application.
Funds Avail.: $1,000. Number Awarded: 1. To Apply: Applicants must complete the application form and submit together with the required materials to Ruth Ann Hatchett Pierce College District Rm. 108 Gaspard Building 1601 39th Ave. SE, Puyallup, WA 98374. Deadline: May 2. Remarks: Funded by the Retired Teacher Association - WSRTA Affiliate No. 27.
Post 4137 Veterans Foundation Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)
Purpose: To render financial assistance for the veterans, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren of U.S.
veterans. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be honorably discharged veterans or, children, grandchildren, or great-grandchildren of an honorably discharged veteran; must be enrolled at or admitted to a private secondary educational institution, or a university, including community colleges. Criteria: Selection of recipient is based on merit.
Funds Avail.: $5,000. Number Awarded: 1.
