Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada Expanded Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide educational assistance for students through three series: The President's Series; The Leader's Series; and The Founders’ Series. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be children or grandchildren of regular or retired members in good standing or members who were in good standing at the time of their death. Applicants must be entering their first year of post-secondary education, in a full-time program at an educational institution which is a member of the Association of Universities and Colleges in Canada. Criteria: Awards will be granted by an impartial selection panel using the following factors: academic achievement (transcript required); typed statement by the candidates indicating why they deserve a scholarship and outlining their goals for future education and career; documented leadership ability and community service involvement; essay of 750-1000 words on “professionalism”. A suggested topic is “What does it mean to be professional in your career” but other specific topics on professionalism are welcomed.

Funds Avail.: $5,000 (President's Series); $3,500 (Leaders’ Series); $1,500 (Founders’ Series). To Apply: Application must include the following: official PIPSC Scholarship Application Form; a copy of the official transcript of marks from the learning institution most recently attended; a statement about why you should receive the scholarship and your future education and career goals; a typed statement about your leadership abilities and community service involvement with supporting evidence; and a 750-1000 word essay on “professionalism”. Applicants must submit the application by mail or fax with other supporting documents. Deadline: July 11.
