Hazel Reed Baumeister Scholarship Program (Undergraduate/Scholarship)
Purpose: To support high school graduates of high academic achievement who would be unable to pursue higher education without financial assistance. Focus: General Studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be current graduating seniors or graduates of a public or private high school in San Mateo County or Santa Clara County; must be United States citizens; must have demonstrated financial hardship; must have earned a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.3. Criteria: Preference will be given to those students who meet the criteria.

Purpose: To recognize students who demonstrate excellence in both character and academic achievement by giving them scholarships. Focus: Medicine. Qualif.: Applicants must be United States citizens; must be college seniors and accepted to medical school, or currently enrolled full-time in an accredited medical school program; must demonstrate personal motivation for excellence in both character and academic achievement. Personal integrity, as exemplified by leadership, community involvement, and concern for others, will be considered. Criteria: Preference will be given to those students who meet the criteria.

Purpose: To provide financial assistance to those students who are in need. Focus: Political Science; Public Administration. Qualif.: Applicants must be women who are current students in good standing in the Political Science or Master of Public Administration programs at San Jose State University. Criteria: Selection will be based on their achievements and abilities as reflected in a brief application form, a resume and a 500-word essay on a subject relevant to the political or governmental role of women.
