Change Your World Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To help support the battered woman to overcome barriers to their education, which is necessary for their becoming employable and financially stable. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be direct survivors of domestic violence or partner abuse. Applicants must be citizens or legal residents of the United States. Applicants must be officially accepted to an accredited university or institution in the United States. Applicants must be 17 to 25 years old. Applicants must maintain a 3.0 GPA and a full-time enrollment status. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on academic ability and financial need.

Funds Avail.: No specific amount. To Apply: Applicants must complete the application form and provide evidence of enrollment. Deadline: July 1.

Women's Independence Scholarship Programs (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To help survivors of domestic violence obtain an education that will in turn offer them the chance to secure employment, personal independence and self-sufficiency. To help battered women overcome barriers to the education necessary for their becoming employable and financially stable. To help single mothers with young children who have the greatest financial challenges to gain work so they can support their families. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be direct survivors of domestic violence or partner abuse. Applicants must be citizens or legal residents of the United States. Applicants must be officially accepted into an accredited course of study at a United States institution. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on the demonstrated critical need for financial assistance and determination to complete a training and/or academic program. They should demonstrate a definite plan to use the desired training to upgrade skills for career advancement, to train for new career field, or to enter or re-enter the job market.
