Description: Province-supported, university, coed. Awards bachelor's, master's, doctoral, and first professional degrees. Founded 1915. Setting: 1,000-acre urban campus. Endowment: $592,292. Total enrollment: 41,019. Faculty: (1,970 full-time). Student-undergrad faculty ratio is 15:1. 21,552 applied, 50% were admitted. Full-time: 20,447 students, 55% women, 45% men. Part-time: 9,091 students, 59% women, 41% men. Students come from 31 provinces and territories, 127 other countries, 10% from out-of province, 23% live on campus. Retention: 91% of 2003 full-time freshmen returned. Calendar: Canadian standard year. Academic remediation for entering students, ESL program, services for LD students, advanced placement, self-designed majors, freshman honors college, honors program, distance learning, double major, summer session for credit, part-time degree program, external degree program, adult/continuing education programs, co-op programs and internships. Koerner Library plus 9 others with 4 million books, 4.9 million microform titles, 26,016 serials, an OPAC, and a Web page. 1,100 computers available on campus for general student use.
