Independent, comprehensive, coed. Awards associate, bachelor's, and master's degrees. Founded 1952. Setting: 60-acre suburban campus with easy access to Baltimore. Total enrollment: 2,740. Collegiate Environment:

Orientation program. Drama-theater group, choral group, student-run newspaper. Social organizations: 30 open to all; national sororities; 1% of women are members. Most popular organizations: Student Government Association, Wilderness Club, Black Student Union, National Student Nurses Association, Phi Sigma. Major annual events: Welcome Picnic, SGA Haunted Trail and Bonfire, BSU Latin Dance. Student services: personal-psychological counseling. Campus security: 24-hour emergency response devices, late night transport-escort service, controlled dormitory access, patrols by trained security personnel during campus hours.
