Peter Meyer Memorial Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To complete the educational pathway already underway in West Virginia. Focus: Travel and tourism. Qualif.: Applicants must be high school seniors who plan to enroll in a hospitality degree program. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on academic performance, industry related work experience, strength of letters of recommendation, content, style, and required essay question and presentation of application.

Funds Avail.: $500. To Apply: Applicants must submit a typed or neatly printed application; an official transcript from high school attended; proof of hospitality and travel-related work experience with a minimum of 250 hours verified by copies of paycheck stubs or letters from employer stipulating number of hours worked; one letter of recommendation on letterhead from a current/previous employer; and acceptance letter from the post-secondary institution. West Virginia Educational Foundation Hospitality Business Alliance Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To complete the educational pathway already underway in West Virginia. Focus: Travel and tourism. Qualif.: Applicants must be prostart and lodging management program high school senior students who plan to enroll in a hospitality degree program. Applicants must be West Virginia residents and may be planning to attend out-of-state schools. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on academic performance and financial need.

Funds Avail.: $1,000. To Apply: Applicants must submit a completed application form.

West Virginia Hospitality and Travel Association General Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To complete the educational pathway already underway in West Virginia. Focus: Travel and tourism. Qualif.: Applicants must be graduating seniors in a West Virginia High School; must have a minimum grade point of average of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale; must have performed a minimum of 250 hours of hospitality and travel industry related work experience; must have applied to a hospitality, travel, or recreation management program in a post-secondary institution, either full-time or substantial part-time with the intent to enroll in a minimum of 2 terms. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on academic performance, industry-related work experience, strength of letters of recommendation, content, style, and required essay question and presentation of application.
