Gower, David Ivon
Gower, David Ivon (1957– ) English cricketer. A left-handed batsman, he played for Leicestershire from 1975, playing his first Test match in 1978. He captained both Leicestershire and England (1984–86, 1989), regaining the “Ashes” from Australia (1985), making 8231 test runs in 117 matches. He played for Hampshire from 1990, retiring in 1993 to focus on commentating and journalism.
