Landseer, Sir Edwin Henry
Landseer, Sir Edwin Henry (1802–73) English painter and sculptor. He achieved immense popularity with his sentimental paintings of animals, such as the stag in Monarch of the Glen (1851) and the dogs in Dignity and Impudence (1839). His best-known sculptures are the lions in Trafalgar Square, London.
