Michael, Saint
Michael, Saint One of the four archangels mentioned in the Bible, the others being Gabriel, Raphael, and Uriel. In the Old Testament, Michael is the guardian of Israel and the highest of the archangels. In the New Testament book of Revelation, he is said to have thrown down the Dragon (Satan). His feast day is September 29 (Michaelmas). He is also given prominence in Islam.
