Qin
Qin (formerly Ch'in) Imperial dynasty of China (221 bc–206 bc) Originating in nw China, the Qin emerged after the collapse of the Zhou dynasty; its founder was Qin Shihuangdi. The Qin established the first centralized imperial administration, with the country divided into provinces, each under a governor. They encouraged uniformity in every sphere, including law, language, coinage, weights and measures. The Great Wall of China took permanent shape during this period.
