Kinsey
Kinsey ★★★ 2004 (R)
Well-written, well-acted, and provocative biopic on the life of still-controversial sex researcher Alfred Kinsey. Trained as a zoologist, Kinsey (Neeson) found his true calling when his own sexual ignorance and that of his equally inexperienced bride Clara (Linney) caused them marital problems. The Indiana U professor began by offering his students factual and explicit information on human sexuality and then embarked on a massive research project that involved interviewing thousands about their sexual histories. Rumpled but charismatic, Kinsey's own complicated sexual feelings, especially towards young associate Clyde Martin (Sarsgaard), offer emotional consequences Kinsey is unprepared for. Nor is he prepared for the increasingly shrill notoriety his published works bring him. Lynn Redgrave offers a striking cameo. 118m/C DVD .
