Juan Bautista Mayno (hwän boutēs´tä mī´nō), 1578–1649, Spanish painter. He entered the Dominican order in Toledo, where he is thought to have studied with El Greco. He was drawing teacher to the young Philip (later Philip IV). The Reconquest of the Bay of San Salvador and Adoration of the Kings (both: Prado) and Adoration of the Shepherds (St. Petersburg) are examples of his baroque work.
