Ascalon
Ascalon the ancient Greek name for Ashqelon, an ancient Mediterranean city, situated to the south of modern Tel Aviv, in Israel. A Philistine city state from the 12th to the 8th century bc, it was conquered by Alexander the Great in 332 bc.
