Buckhaven and Methil
Buckhaven and Methil (mĕth´Ĭl), township (1991 pop. 18,775), Fife, E Scotland, on the Firth of Forth. A former coal mining center, the port of Methil manufactures production platforms for the North Sea oil industry. In the township is Wemyss Castle (13th cent.), where Mary Queen of Scots met Lord Darnley in 1565.
