Falköping
Falköping (fäl´chö´pĬng), city (1990 pop. 31,990), Skaraborg co., S Sweden, between lakes Vänern and Vättern. It is a commercial and industrial center. Manufactures include textiles and cement. There are numerous prehistoric remains, including burial mounds and stone monuments. Nearby, in 1389, Margaret of Denmark defeated and captured Albert of Mecklenburg, the king of Sweden.
