Hammersmith and Fulham

Hammersmith and Fulham, inner borough (1991 pop. 136,500) of Greater London, SE England, on the Thames River. It has various industries (such as wharves and pottery kilns) and is the principal television center of the British Broadcasting Corp. Fulham Palace, with 37 acres (15 hectares) of grounds, is the residence of the bishop of London. William Morris's Kelmscott Press was in Hammersmith, and St. Paul's School for boys was moved there in 1884.
