Moneta, Ernesto Teodoro
Ernesto Teodoro Moneta (ārnĕs´tō tāōŧħô´rō mōnĕ´-tä), 1833–1918, Italian editor and pacifist; winner of the 1907 Nobel Peace Prize. He joined the movement for Italian unification, serving (1859–66) with Garibaldi. From 1867 he devoted himself to the cause of peace, editing the daily Secolo. He was president (1906) of the International Peace Congress in Milan.
