Hanafi Muslims
Hanafi Muslims. A black American Muslim group, founded by Hamaas Abdul Khaalis in 1958, when he left the Nation of Islam (see ELIJAH MUHAMMAD; BLACK MUSLIMS). The movement aims to adhere to the Ḥanafite school, regarding the parent movement as too much compromised by the American way of life.
