Maruts (etym. uncertain: perhaps mṛ + ut, ‘immortal’; or mā rud, ‘do not weep’). A collection (gaṇa) of Vedic storm gods, who work in the service of Rudra, and who are therefore also known as Rudriyas (though in some accounts the Rudriyas are separate and different).
