Ninigi
Ninigi. The grandson of the Shinto deity Amaterasu, and an important figure in the mythologies of the founding of Japan. He also represents an important motif of descent in Shinto: throughout Shinto, the kami are thought to descend from high places (sky, mountains, etc.) in order to bring their power, authority, and benefits.
