Benzaquén, Saadia
BENZAQUÉN, SAADIA
BENZAQUÉN, SAADIA (1925–1986), rabbi of the Jewish Moroccan community in Argentina. Born in Tetuan, Morocco, he immigrated to Argentina in 1951 and was appointed chief rabbi of the Asociación Comunidad Israelita Latina de Buenos Aires, serving until his death. In 1974 he succeeded in uniting all the synagogues and institutions of the Moroccan Jews in Buenos Aires in one central organization – acilba (Asociación Comunidad Israelita Latina de Buenos Aires).
