BET ḤANAN

BET ḤANAN (Heb. בֵּית חָנָן), moshav in central Israel, west of Nes Ẓiyyonah, founded in 1930 by settlers from Bulgaria. Its economy was based on citrus plantations, poultry, milch cattle, and other farm products. In 2002 the population of Bet Hanan was 534. The village's name resembles the former Arabic denomination of the site "Wadi Ḥanīn."
