Daughters of the Cross of Liège
DAUGHTERS OF THE CROSS OF LIÈGE
Filiae Crucis Leodiensis (FC, Official Catholic Directory #0780), a religious congregation with papal approval (1845), founded at Liège, Belgium, in 1833 by Maria Theresia Haze and Jean Habets (d. 1876), a pastor in Liège. The apostolate includes educational work and care of the sick and aged. During the lifetime of the foundress the Daughters spread to Germany (1851), India (1862), and England (1863). Foundations have since been made in the Netherlands, Italy, Ireland, Brazil, and the United States. The congregation's United States headquarters is in Tracy, California.
