ROBERT OF BURY SAINT EDMUNDS, ST.
Reputed martyr; b. 1171; d. 1181, Edmundsbury, England. Ten-year-old Robert is said to have been killed on Good Friday, a victim of ritual murder. Although he was never canonized, his cultus was strong. His relics were translated to the abbey church at Bury St. Edmunds. In his honor Jocelin of Brakelond wrote Miracles of St. Robert.
