Aphyllophorales (subclass Holobasidiomycetidae) An order of fungi in which the development of the fruit body is gymnocarpic; the fruit body may be woody, corky, or leathery (but not fleshy), and the hymenium is typically borne on teeth or within tubes. There are many families. Most are saprotrophic, and found on wood, soil, plant debris, etc.
