Enoplosidae (old wife; subclass Actinopterygii, order Perciformes) A monospecific family (Enoplosus armatus, old wife) of marine fish; an attractive, deep-bodied fish with a small mouth, long, spinous, soft-rayed dorsal fins, and large pelvic fins. It is found in coastal regions of eastern Indonesia and eastern Australia.
