Eriostemon
Eriostemon (wax flowers; family Rutaceae) A genus of shrubs that have simple, alternate leaves with oil glands. The flowers are axillary or terminal, solitary, and white, pink, or blue. The 5-pointed sepals form a large calyx, and the 5 petals are spreading and waxy, usually arranged in a star-like form. The 10 woolly stamens are arranged closely around the pistil. The fruit is composed of 5 separate carpels with a single black, shiny seed. There are 33 species, all of them endemic (see ENDEMISM) to Australia, where they are present in all temperate regions.
