Lowiaceae A small family comprising 1 genus, with 7 species, of forest herbs related to bananas (Musaceae) that are rhizomatous (see RHIZOME) and stemless. Their flowers are bisexual and trimerous, with 1 enlarged sepal and petal, and a long hypanthium. They occur in Indomalesia.
