Luciocephalidae (pikehead; subclass Actinopterygii, order Perciformes) A monospecific family (Luciocephalus pulcher) of predatory, surface, freshwater fish, about 20 cm long, that have an elongate, nearly cylindrical body, a very pronounced or even pointed snout, and large eyes. The dorsal and anal fins are placed far back, with the anal fin showing a deep notch. The fish has an accessory respiratory organ. It is found in Malaysia.
