Oedemeridae (subclass Pterygota, order Coleoptera) Family of soft-bodied, parallel-sided, finely pubescent beetles, 5–18 mm long, in which the elytra may not fully cover the abdomen. Some species are toxic. Oedemeridae are found feeding at flowers, particularly on the coast. Larvae are found in old wood, preferring wood that is waterlogged. There are 1500 species.
