Pseudevernia
Pseudevernia (order Lecanorales) A genus of lichens in which the thallus is more or less fruticose. P. furfuracea closely resembles oak-moss (Evernia prunastri) but is black on the underside, and bears isidia rather than soredia. Apothecia are rarely formed. This species is common on a range of substrates in hilly districts of the north and west of Britain.
