Pseudogrammidae (dottyback; subclass Actinopterygii, order Perciformes) A small family of elongate marine fish, closely related to the Pseudochromidae, that have about seven spiny rays in the dorsal fin; the soft dorsal and the other fins have a rounded profile. They have an interrupted lateral line and conspicuous eyes. There are at least six species occurring in Africa and the Indo-Pacific region.
