Triacanthodidae
Triacanthodidae (spikefish; subclass Actinopterygii, order Tetraodontiformes) A small family of marine tropical to subtropical fish, closely related to the Triacanthidae (tripodfish) but with fewer fin rays, a rounded tail fin, a pointed snout, and large eyes. There are about 19 species, distributed in the Indo-Pacific region and the western Atlantic.
