Psychic News (Newspaper)
Psychic News (Newspaper)
The oldest Spiritualist weekly newspaper in Britain. It was founded in 1932 and for many years it was edited by Maurice Barbanell (1902-1981). After Barbanell's passing, Tony Ortzen became the new editor. Psychic News has always been the preeminent source for news, discussion, and controversy on Spiritualism in Britain, and, in the absence of a comparable organ in North America, exerted influence in the United States and Canada.
For many years the Psychic News maintained a bookshop for books and magazines connected with Spiritualism and psychical research. In November 1989, the proprietors, Psychic Press Ltd., acquired the long established Atlantis Book Shop, 49a Museum Street, London, WC1A 1LY, and moved their own book shop to these premises, with an augmented stock of new and secondhand books on the paranormal, Spiritualism, occult studies, and New Age topics.
