New Zealand educator. Name variations: Ann O'Connor Warner, Ann O'Connor Knowles. Born Ann O'Connor Warner, Feb 15, 1842, in Oxford, England; died at Christchurch, New Zealand, Feb 25, 1915; dau. of Sarah (Lyne) Warner and Robert Warner (shoemaker); m. Charles Alabaster (cleric and educator), 1858 (died 1865); m. Francis Knowles (cleric), 1915; children: 2.

Taught at parish school of St Ebbe, Oxford, England; immigrated with husband to New Zealand (1859); cofounded and administered prominent Lincoln Cottage Preparatory School (1862); retired (1880).
