American tv writer. Born Sept 9, 1921, in Washington, DC; died Nov 10, 2003, at her home in Woodland Hills, California; dau. of a naval officer; University of California at Los Angeles, BS; married with children.
One of the 1st successful female tv writers, wrote episodes for "The Rifleman," "The Big Valley," "The Lawman," "Star Trek," "Barnaby Jones," "Flamingo Road" and "Marcus Welby, M.D.," among others; also wrote the novel The Hanging of Father Miguel (1984).
