Barth, Beatrice Mary (1877–1966)
New Zealand music teacher. Born May 11, 1877, in London, England; died Jan 14, 1966, in Dunedin, New Zealand; dau. of Arthur James Barth (professor of music) and Ellen (Thompson) Barth.
Immigrated to New Zealand with family (1881); after father's death (1905), began to teach music, founding Barth Pianoforte Music School (later Barth School of Music, 1921); was a founding member of Society of Women Musicians of Otago (1925) and served as president (1928); helped to administer Dunedin Center of Trinity College of Music, London.
