Bolivian poet and essayist. Name variations: Yolanda de Bolivia. Born Sept 21, 1916, in La Paz, Bolivia; died May 22, 1999, in La Paz; attended Barnard College in NY.
Professor of aesthetics, whose poems and essays have been published in many Bolivian journals, has been dubbed Yolanda de Bolivia by compatriots; writings include Naufragio (1936), Poemar (1937), Ecos (1940), Almadía (1942), Nadir (1950), Del mar y la ceniza (1957) and Bajo el oscuro sol (1970). Won National Poetry Prize.
