Borg, Anita (1949–2003)
American computer scientist. Born Anita Borg Naffz, 1949, in Chicago, Illinois; died April 27, 2003, in Sonoma, California; dau. of Beverly Naffz; New York University, PhD in computer science, 1981; m. Winfried Wilcke (physicist).
Devoted much of her career to the advancement of women in computer science; launched Systers (1987), an electronic mailing list on technical subjects, for women highly trained in engineering; founded the Institute for Women and Technology (IWT) in Palo Alto (1998).
