English actress. Name variations: Camilla Antoinette Clifford; Mrs. Lyndhurst Bruce. Born Camille Clifford Lizzie Caswell Smith in Denmark in 1885; died 1970; m. Hon. Lyndhurst Henry Bruce; m. Capt. J.M.J. Evans, M.C.
Moved to US when quite young and made stage debut in chorus of The Defender (1902); made London debut as a Gibson girl in The Prince of Pilsen (1904), where she 1st attracted attention; sang "A Gibson Girl" at the Vaudeville (1905), becoming known as the British Gibson girl; had one of the most famous hourglass figures of the Edwardian period.
