Cuban track-and-field athlete. Name variations: María Caridad Colón. Born María Caridad Colón, Mar 25, 1958, in Cuba; m. Angel Salcedo (her coach).

Won gold medals at two Pan American Games; won a gold medal for javelin at Moscow (1980), the 1st Cuban woman to win an Olympic gold medal.
