With husband, published 6 vols about travels to French Guiana and Pará, Brazil; after husband died during exploration of tributary of Amazon, completed the journey and published Voyage au Trombetas; employed by states of Pará and Amazonas, Brazil, to explore Amazon; published Voyage au Cuminá and Voyage au Rio Curua, á la Mapuera, au Maycurú.
