Edburga of Bicester (d. 650)
English abbess and saint. Born in England; died July 18, 650, at Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, England; dau. of pagan warrior king, Penda of Mercia, and Cynewise; sister of Wulfhere of Mercia, king of Mercia (r. 657–675), Wilburga and Edith of Aylesbury.
Abbess of Aylesbury, built a small monastery on land given her by father; with sister, educated their niece, St. Osith.
