Ephron, Phoebe (1914–1971)

American playwright and screenwriter. Born Phoebe Wolkind, Jan 26, 1914, in New York, NY; died Oct 13, 1971, in New York, NY; m. Henry Ephron (screenwriter), 1934; children: Nora Ephron (writer-director, b. 1941), Amy Ephron (production executive), Delia Ephron (writer), and one other daughter.

Collaborated with husband on stage comedies, including such hits as Three's a Family (1943) and Take Her She's Mine (1961); films include John Loves Mary, Belles on Their Toes, What Price Glory, There's No Business Like Show Business, Daddy Long Legs, Carousel and Desk Set.
