Cornelia Goethe was born around 1751 in a house on Grosser Hirschgraben, in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, the daughter of Elisabeth Goethe and Johann Caspar Goethe, a jurist. Cornelia was the only sibling of poet Johann Wolfgang Goethe who survived infancy, and he was very attached to her. She married a family friend named Schlosser and died at 27, while giving birth to her second child.
