Romanian gymnast. Born Gina Elena Gogean, Sept 9, 1977, in Cimpuri, Romania.

At Barcelona Olympics, won a silver medal in all-around team (1992); at European championships, placed 1st for floor exercises, 2nd for vault and all-around (1992), 1st for all-around, vault, balance beam, and 3rd for floor exercise (1994); placed 1st all-around at International Championships of Romania (1992); at Chunichi Cup, placed 1st for balance beam, 2nd for all-around and vault, and 3rd for floor exercise (1993), 1st for all-around and vault, 2nd for uneven bars, balance beam and floor exercise (1994), 1st for vault, 2nd for all-around, uneven bars, and balance beam (1995), and 1st for all-around, vault and floor exercise (1996); at World championships, placed 2nd for all-around and floor exercise, 3rd for balance beam (1993), 1st for vault, 3rd for floor exercise (1994), and 1st for team all around, balance beam, and floor exercise (1997); at Atlanta Olympics, won a silver medal for all-around and bronze medals for team all-around, vault, and balance beam (1996).
